Your data
Privacy policy
This is a courtesy translation. The Latvian version is the binding one.
This page explains, briefly and without legal riddles, what data LX Car Detailing (Gaujas iela 20, Riga, LV-1026) processes, why, who helps us, and what your rights are.
Updated on 2 September 2026, when the customer portal and the English version were added.
What data we collect
When you book a time: your name, phone number, email, the make and model of the car, the registration plate (if you give it), the car size (if you pick one) and your notes. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, also the invoice details: payer name, registration and VAT number, address.
If you create an account in the portal: your email and password. We do not keep the password itself, only a hash of it, from which the password cannot be recovered. We also keep the account language and the time of your last sign-in.
If you sign in with Google: we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier from Google. Google does not give us your password, and we cannot reach your Google account. Google, in turn, sees that you signed in to our site.
As the work happens: what we did to your car and when, what the price was, whether and how it was paid, and the invoice if one was issued. This is what you see in the "History" section of the portal.
Nothing more. We get no data from social networks, data brokers or other sources, and we build no advertising profile of you.
Why we need it
- To handle your request: agree the time, do the work and, if needed, issue an invoice.
- To send you email about the request: that we received it and that the time is confirmed.
- To ask for a Google review after the work and, later, to remind you when the car is due for care again. If you do not want that, tell us and we stop.
- To make the portal work: so you can sign in, see your cars and work history, and book faster.
- To show the site and write to you in a language you understand.
We use the data for nothing else, sell it to no one and do not use it for advertising.
Where the data is kept
In our booking system on a server in the Netherlands (hosted by Railway, data centre in the European Union). Only the workshop can open it, each employee with their own account.
Every night we make a copy of the database so nothing is lost in a failure. The copies live in a separate Railway store in Amsterdam and are deleted after 30 days.
Who helps us
A few services also process the data, and the site would not work without them. Each sees only what its job needs.
- Railway
- The server, the database and its copies. Data centre in the Netherlands.
- Mailgun
- Sends our email, so it sees your address and the content of the message. Servers in the European Union.
- Only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Rekis
- Our invoicing software. If an invoice is needed, it receives the payer name, email, phone, company details, the car and the invoice lines.
- PostHog
- Visit statistics without cookies, see below. Servers in the European Union.
How long we keep it
- Your account: for as long as you need it. Write or call, and we delete it.
- Invoices and the data tied to them: as long as the accounting law requires, which is five years.
- The rest of the work history: as long as it is useful for knowing what has already been done to your car. If you want it deleted sooner, tell us.
Cookies
The site sets only the cookies it needs to work. None of them follows you across other sites, and none goes to third parties. That is why there is no consent banner: the law requires one for tracking and advertising cookies, not for technical ones.
| Cookie | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
lx-valoda | The language you read the site in. Set when you open the English version or change the language in your account. A Latvian reader who never switched does not get it. | a year |
lx_klients | Your sign-in to the portal. Set when you sign in, gone when you sign out. | 30 days |
lx_klients_state | A security check while you sign in with Google. | 10 minutes |
lx_admin | Workshop staff sign-in to the admin area. Visitors never get it. | 30 days |
Your browser also remembers (in its storage, not a cookie) the car size you picked on the prices page, so you do not have to pick it again, and the booking you are filling in (for up to an hour, in this tab only), so a page reload does not make you start over. It reaches our server only together with your booking.
Visit statistics
We count visits with PostHog (servers in the European Union): which pages are viewed, where people come from and whether a booking is completed. This happens without cookies and without writing anything to your browser. The statistics hold no name and no email, and no individual can be picked out of them.
Your rights
You can ask at any time what data we hold about you, have it corrected, ask us to delete it, or opt out of reminders. We delete your account on request; only what the accounts must keep stays.
Call 25 430 053 or write to us on WhatsApp and we will sort it out. If you believe we process your data wrongly, you can turn to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (dvi.gov.lv).
